41-4b4a8045Hey, my name is Chris Stover. I’m a freelance multimedia journalist based in New York City.

I split my time as a freelance news writer for the award-winning CBS This Morning. I write some of the things that you hear Charlie Rose, Gayle King and Norah O’Donnell say every morning.

I’m also a freelance on-air anchor for for News 12 the Bronx and Brooklyn. I also developed and taught a TV news reporting course for seniors at Brooklyn College.

I spent more than four years as an anchor and general assignment reporter for the Charlottesville (Va.) Newsplex, a broadcast “triopoly” with CBS, ABC and FOX affiliates.

In Charlottesville, I covered a number of stories that garnered national attention, from a murder trial centered around student-athletes at the University of Virginia, to the governor’s corruption scandal, to a 5.8-magnitude earthquake that rocked the entire East Coast. I’m a newsroom leader and the go-to guy, always willing to lend a hand.

I graduated summa cum laude from Temple University in Philadelphia. At Temple, I was the editor in chief of The Temple News, the award-winning student newspaper. I helped to bring audio and video to a newly designed website, named by Editor & Publisher and Mediaweek magazines as the best college newspaper website in the country. My work has been rewarded with two Keystone Press Awards and recognition from UWIRE as one of the top 100 college journalists in the country.
