“What’s a Phillie?” August 15, 2008

We went to the Phillies vs. Dodgers game tonight. The game itself — frustrating, annoying, boring. The Dodgers fans? Flaky (most of them, at least. I don’t mean to overgeneralize).
Some of the flaky ones were girls sitting behind us.
The Phillies have a stupid name. I mean, what’s a Phillie?
I think it’s a cheesesteak…
So what’s their mascot? A cheesesteak?
Baseball teams don’t have mascots. What’s our mascot?
Yes, and on that note, what exactly is a Dodger? One who jumps out of the way of balls?
This has been Overheard at a Phillies Game.

it’s from the original brooklyn dogers cuz everyone in brooklyn had to dodge the trolley’s.
Hey…
“If you dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball!”
Sorry I had to. But Mr. Stover…this post…
BRILLIANT!!!!
Rahul — Though your information is visually more humorously imaginative, I’m going to stick with mine purely to keep the mood bitter.
Greg — Haha…I appreciate your appreciation for this post! We’re going to a Padres game tomorrow, so I’m hoping for more flaky fans in my general seating area…
I mean let’s think about all the California baseball teams…
Dodgers – What is a Dodger? Some who stays indoors, “dodging” the idea of bringing real talent to LA. With the exception of Joe Torre of course!
Padres – Is that Spanish???? I think Ron Burgandy got this one right. “San Diego…I think translated means a whale’s vagina.”
Giants – Where is their mascot? That giant Coke bottle and baseball glove they have in the outfield doesnt count! The only giant thing San Fran has got is that giant prick who holds the home run record.
Athletics – What a generic title!! An athletic can be defined as anything…from those underage Chinese gymnasts to those new American Gladiators!!!
Angels – I’m sorry…but any team that has to be prefaced as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of Orange County California United States of America, doesnt deserve a mascot!
Haha…I’m voting for a greg-nothstein.com.
