Anheuser-Busch is no longer American-owned. Rather, it’s Belgian. That doesn’t settle well, does it?
Next thing we know, the great American chocolate bar will be next. Let’s somehow stop that from happening. I don’t know how. Just somehow. Oprah’s probably behind it all.
CNN.com, the multimedia source that it is, provides a slideshow of American businesses eventually bought by foreign entities. And the most surprising?
Apparently, the government of Abu Dhabi recently (as in July 2008) purchased 75 percent of New York City’s Chrysler Building. A German firm owns the other quarter.
Comforting to know that a Middle Eastern country owns a very tall, well-known building in NYC, isn’t it? Nothing personal against the UAE, but still…


as long as the dollar is cheap (relatively)this is going to keep happening. mind you no one complains when Coca Cola and Pepsi go into a country and buy out all the local soda companies.
